It’s been a while since I’ve sat down with the Ballard Designs catalog so when it came in the mail the other day, I made sure to set aside some time to look through it.  I’ve always enjoyed the catalog, not only because I love European-inspired decor, but also because the photos and styling tips provide lots of great inspiration.  Sometimes, I even tear out pages that I like and save them in a file of design inspiration!

Looking through the catalog I realized there are several new items that I’m really excited about.  I ended up putting little Post-It notes everywhere and ultimately, decided to share with you some of my favorites.

I’m most excited about Ballard’s selection of wallpapers.  I don’t actually  have any wallpaper in my home but I’ve thought about using it and have even gone to the store in search of something that catches my eye.  But if you’ve ever tried to look through wallpaper books, you know the task can be overwhelming.  Trying to find the perfect paper in among all of the books is like looking for a needle in a haystack!  Since I already know that Ballard has a look I like, it’s as if they’ve done the groundwork for me and I just have the fun part of choosing!  Here are some of my favorites.

I also have a bit of a mirror obsession so it should be no surprise that a few of the new mirrors caught my eye.  In fact, I think that the Beaudry would look great in my living room and the Louis mirror has a timeless elegance about it.

There are also a few new bedding lines that I love.  The Audree Pom Pom Quilt bedding has a bit of whimsy and femininity with the pom pom edging.  And I love the new Ticking Stripe bedding!  {In case you missed it, last week’s post was all about ticking!}

I recently purchased the Carriage House Chandelier from Ballard for my guest bedroom, but I see now they have the Bristol Lantern which is also quite beautiful!

When it comes to decorative containers and storage items, Ballard has some of my favorite pieces.  And you know I LOVE vintage so I couldn’t believe it when I saw that they now offer vintage dough bowls in various sizes!  {You can read a previous post about dough bowls here.}

Baskets are another great decorative storage option and I’ve had my eye on Ballard’s Step Basket for some time, but the coloring wasn’t quite right for my home.  Luckily for me, they now offer these new Kubu Baskets that feature the warm grays of French vintage finds.

The new Clervaux Tufted Ottoman also caught my eye as I’ve been casually looking for one for a while.

And last but not least, following up on the post from the other day about decorating for Spring, I love gracefulness of these Philadelphus branches!

Browsing through catalogs is a great way not only to keep current with home decorating trends, but also to get inspiration for how to use items in different ways than you may have thought.  So if it’s been a while since you checked out the catalog, it’s worth a look!

P.S. – A big Thank You to Sarah at Silly Grrl for providing the great Photoshop collage templates that I used in this post for my photos.  I had no idea there were templates available and have been making my own all this time!  What a great time-saver Sarah’s templates are!

  1. Hi Kim, I love their catalog too! I have some things I’ve bought from them that I love. A lantern, fabric, and faux antlers. What’s really fun is to visit their showroom and see their beautiful items in person. Thanks for the lovely post.

      Anne – SO jealous that you’ve been to their showroom! I can only imagine how much fun it would be to browse through…

  2. That catalog is dangerous! We’ve bought many things from Ballard’s since moving to this house. The last thing I bought was a console and two chandeliers that I love. When a coupon shows up, I always use it.
