Lately, I’ve been crushing on the color green.  Decorating with green adds a sense of freshness and nature to any room!  And as with any color, you can choose how much {or how little} to add to your space depending on your level of comfort. I started out with natural greenery through plants and preserved boxwood, but eventually made my way up to some accent pillows and an ottoman.

If you’re just starting out, try just a touch of green with accents.  Look at the impact Yvonne‘s pillows make on her neutral sofa!

Even just a few pieces of decor make a bold statement.

For a bolder look, try adding a green to your furniture!  Jennifer at Dimples & Tangles introduces pops of green into almost every room of her home.  Look at how her traditional dining hutch is completely transformed with a coat of green paint!

Side tables, buffets, benches, and dining chairs all look beautiful in green!

Green can even become the main color in your color scheme, with or without painting the walls!

Will you be going green?

  1. I am currently using greens around my house…and they work for most seasons. My greens range from dark olive to lighter almost limey green. I have one room, the master, that is SW hearts of palm green. We love it. Sheila

  2. I already have !!! Green kitchen cabinets, green and cream toile curtains for the kitchen and dining area….mixing in some blue as well. I <3 green !!! Lovely pics :)

  3. Kim,
I do love green, but I had green for so long—I’m not sure I can go back to green. I do love the apple greens you’ve shared. I also love green flowers or even just leafy branches.
