This is a 100+ year old andiron imported from France. These are also known as firedogs or “chenets” in French. This is a beautiful figural bust constructed of cast iron. Despite the age, you can still see the beautiful attention to detail that remains. This andiron bust shows its age with a beautiful, rusty patina.
Dimensions are: Height 9″, Width 4″, Depth 4″. This piece is heavy, weighing in at almost 3 lbs 10 oz.
The back rods typically deteriorate after many years of use in the fireplace, so are often removed, as this one has been. The remaining cast-iron bust is perfect as part of a vignette, coffee table display, doorstop, bookend, and more. I have a second matching one for sale if you are interested in a pair.
These are small white enamel signs, perhaps used for room numbers! Each one is white with black numbers on one side and a screw hole on either side. Total length is just over 3″.
They are old and show their age in chips, dings, or even rust. These would be beautiful as a keychain, objet d’art, onlays, decorative numbers for storage boxes, or even just grouped together in a bowl.
Price is for 1 sign. Choose which numbered sign you would like from the dropdown menu.
Vintage metal clock face from France that features white face with black numbering. Would look beautiful propped up on a shelf, nestled among books, or even hanging on the wall! This clock face actually used to hang in my own home as part of an eclectic gallery wall (see photo). There are three small scratches on the III (see photo).
Clock face measures 10.5 inches in diameter by .75 inches in depth (due to the metal shafts on back).
