Welcome to Home & Garden Tidbits. This is a collection of everything that caught my eye this past week from renovations to gardens, home decor finds. and more!
Let’s get inspired together!
So my eldest is heading back to college next week and moving into his first ever apartment! At the start of summer, he assured me that it was fully furnished, including the kitchen. Well, good thing I called to check.
While it is furnished, the bed is a different size than his dorm bed and the kitchen has nothing in it except major appliances.
So I went shopping this week! Lol!
I always find the end of summer to be a sad time so I’m not looking forward to the next couple of weeks. Luckily, I have a few projects on the back burner that will keep me occupied.
So that was my week. Now let’s move on to what captured my attention this week!
Home Decor Finds
It’s the first week of August and yes, I’m already thinking about Fall decor! Believe it or not, but now’s the time to shop for Fall essentials because in Fall, retailers will have moved on to Christmas!
I love a good wreath and this one caught my eye recently. Alternatively, instead of a wreath (which admittedly takes up a lot of space), you could use a cute basket and fill it with Fall stems!
I love the interesting shape of this basket but for under $8, you can’t beat the price of this one! If the basket has a lower front like this, you’d need to use floral foam to keep your stems in place when opening and closing the door. Here are two other great options: this one is just $12 and this one has a great shape!
Now let’s chat about stems! I think my favorite kitchen stems would work well for Fall, but these plum stems are pretty as well. I also love these Nandina branches and the colors on these Cotinus Coggygria branches.
I don’t really do traditional “It’s Fall Y’all” decor, so my interpretation of Fall decor is based more on texture and color. Like this great pillow, or my favorite candlesticks. Even something as versatile as this bench gives a Fall feel and you can use it in a entryway, hallway, family room, and more!
Art is another great way to signal the transition to Fall. While there are many great free images to choose from, I’m always a sucker for sketch art.
And do these things say Fall to you? I think so and they’re cute, so there’s that. Who doesn’t love a Merci? And cloches and footed bowls can be used any time of year depending on how you decorate them.

Instagram Inspiration
After looking at @houseofhargrove’s pantry with wallpapered ceiling in this week’s new post, I started looking at other pretty pantries and am sharing some favorites with you below.
1. @gentryrainesinteriordesign – I love the herringbone tile backsplash and that gorgeous cabinet color. And let’s not forget the doors in the second picture! Love!
2. @paulnbrowarchitect – Talk about clean and organized! A place for everything and everything in it’s place!
3. @whittneyparkinson – Whittney is such a fantastic designer and this pantry is just one example. I love the two-toned cabinetry and all of the decorative details.
4. @meloneclougheninteriors – These coastal colors mixed with a gorgeous harlequin floor make such an elegant statement!
5. @stephaniewiottdesigns– I love how the tile on the backsplash ties all of the colors together from the cabinetry and floors. And that ladder!!!!
