My mom came for a short visit this week. She’s a very organized, very precise rule follower. I’m more of a live-by-the-seat of my pants, free spirit. So when the two of us decided to work together to wallpaper the ceiling, well it was nothing short of a disaster!
As I write this, we’ve decided to take a break and there’s a half-hung strip above her bed. She wants to start over using a snap line as a guide (the proper way), while I’m content to just let it hang there until the spirit strikes me to take up the challenge again (which could be later today or it could be weeks from now). Lol!
Hubby is off at a toy convention this week, which is his second job. Someday, I’ll have to give you a tour of his office/toy room. It really is unbelievable.
So that was my week. Now let’s move on to what captured my attention this week!
Home Decor Finds
Of course I love Amazon for free shipping and free returns. But one of my other favorite places to shop, which might surprise you, is Home Depot! I like it because they have great prices and usually offer free shipping. Plus, I can return to the actual store without paying any return shipping fees.
Would you believe you can buy furniture from Home Depot! Look at this velvet sofa! They also have some great lighting options, like this semi-flush mount and this one.
While Prime Days are over, I still look on Amazon regularly for great deals on home decor. I actually just ordered this framed art for myself and there are lots of scenes and sizes to choose from.
These pillows are exact dupes for Pottery Barn ones! They come in 18 color options and lots of sizes. And these wicker boxes are great for coffee tables to store remotes! Have a friend who loves champagne? Get them this.
Looking for a new side table? This is a really interesting one that is super trendy right now. Or this one is a great Restoration Hardware dupe for a fraction of the price.
And if you’re struggling to keep things alive on your porch, try this! It has good reviews, as do these!
Who did some Prime Day shopping? Me! I actually only bought two things. I bought this decorative bowl and this so I could try making my own bread. Both already arrived and the bowl is amazing. I’ve added it to my coffee table and love the pop of white.

I watched a TikTok video this week of a harlequin painted porch, and that reminded me just how much I love harlequin floors!
1. @hollybelldesign – I don’t have a pantry, but if I did, I’d want this one! Everything is so bright and airy and the floor adds great visual interest without overpowering the space.
2. @the_fox_group – What a gorgeous traditional foyer and the bold black and white floor is classic!
