Welcome to Home & Garden Tidbits. This is a collection of everything that caught my eye this past week from renovations to gardens, home decor finds, and more!

Let’s get inspired together!

It’s back to school week here! My daughter is back in high school and my son is back at college (although I still have to go help him move into his apartment).

Now that things are a bit quieter around here, it’s time for me to think about my Fall and Christmas decorating. I’m actually hoping to get my bins out of storage this weekend so that I can see what I have and start planning!

I also started a “healthy eating” plan this week. I’m hoping that by putting it out here it’ll help keep me accountable!

So that was my week. Now let’s move on to what captured my attention this week!

Home Decor Finds

Last week I shared with you some of my favorite new arrivals at Target. This week, it’s all about Wayfair!

Rustic vases are very “in” these days, and Wayfair has a great selection. I first came across this one which I love because of the coloring. Plus, it’s 41% off as I write this! That vase led me to this great tall one, which led me to this black one which is similar to the one in my kitchen that I got at HomeGoods. Just imagine how beautiful these would be with large branches in Fall!

I also have a love of furniture with turned legs, so this three-legged side table caught my eye. It’s available in four colors and could work well not only as a side table, but also in a corner or even a hallway.

The legs on this coffee table are beautiful and I actually considered this for my family room before decided that a square table would work better. It’s available as an end table, too and both have great reviews!

Swivel chairs are popular right now which is great because they’re so practical! This Martha Stewart chair has a great shape and is available in four different colors.

And don’t forget about lighting! You need ambient light as well as task lighting to really create layers in a room. This table lamp caught my eye because of it’s earthy texture. And this floor lamp has an adjustable arm to create just the right lighting.

Let’s talk accessories. If you’re styling your coffee table, you might love a small dish or even a little trinket. But I also like to include something organic and something unexpected! And this piece of art is beautifully framed.

Wayfair has so many great pieces of home decor BUT you have to read the reviews. Sometimes, the sales pictures don’t match the item actually sent, so before purchasing anything on Wayfair, always read the reviews!!

Instagram Inspiration

I think you’ll love these posts that stopped me in my scroll this week!

1. @riverbook_ -This was a hoarder home. It doesn’t even look like the same space today! Swipe through to see some of the horrifying before and the beautiful afters. I love the color palette, the stunning fireplace makeover, and the layered rugs!

2. @m_m_interior_design – This room makes a great argument for including a TV above a fireplace. Sometimes, it’s the only space that works in a room! And when it looks like a beautiful piece of art, that’s a win-win!

3. @kellydeckdesign – I love harlequin floors and this home’s flooring is gorgeous! Plus, it’s got great architectural design and furnishings.

4. @debanddanelle – A ram head in the kitchen is surely going to make me stop my scroll! While this was a controversial addition to her kitchen, I love that she stands by her decision because she loves it. And that’s what matters.

5. @paigekontrafouris If you don’t follow Paige, you should. She’s a Maximalist with great style who isn’t afraid of color and pattern (as this photo shows)

Random Tidbits

Was anyone else captivated by Australia’s Olympic breakdancer, Raygun? I just can’t stop watching.

And if you’ve looking for an interesting podcast, try Dangerous Memories. I’ve only listened to seasons 1 and 12 but both have been great.

Until next time!
