Welcome to Home & Garden Tidbits. This is a collection of everything that caught my eye this past week from renovations to gardens, home decor finds. and more!

Let’s get inspired together!

We’re hoping getting the last of our kitchen projects finished up this week. As I write this, the electrician is here trying to fix our electrical issues. And tomorrow, a company is coming to try and fix the giant scratch on the countertop that the contractor made! (You can see it here).

In other news, I’ve probably purchased 5 rug samples in the last week and not one of them has worked out. My biggest complaint about buying rugs online is that the pictures never look like the actual product! But I’ll keep trying.

I also found a new coffee table for my family room at my local consignment store. I’m going to live with it for a couple of weeks but I think I’ll end up painting it. That’ll be a post for another day…

We’re hosting some friends of my husband for dinner this week. I’m thinking of trying a recipe that I haven’t made in 20 years. Probably not my best idea since I’m not a great cook, but knowing me, I’ll do it anyway! Lol!

So that was my week. Now let’s move on to what captured my attention this week!

Instagram Inspiration

1. @thelinenrabbit -Do you follow Tori? The kitchen is so charming, as is the rest of her home. I especially love when she decorates for Halloween. She goes all out.

2. hughesandlutzinteriors – Do you love a good before and after? This kitchen has been completely transformed! And that stove….

3. @emily.riter – A library would be fun to have, but a hidden door to the living room? Yes please!

4. @magdas_gardenCheck out Magda’s garden in Canada. It’s lush and manicured and pure perfection! Can you imagine drinking your coffee on this patio every morning?!

5. @beccainteriors Last but not least is a collection of home photos designed by Becca. Each one is beautiful!

Home Decor Finds

Let’s talk coffee and console table decor! To kick things off, My World Market console table is currently 25% off!

I’m obsessed with these vases from Walmart! They say they are brown but really they are a rustic black. I ordered both sizes. You can’t beat $4.97 for a great vase! And if black vases aren’t your style, my all-time favorite rustic white vase is currently on sale for the best price I’ve seen.

Hydrangeas are in bloom and I’m seeing them all over Instagram. If you don’t have a live plant, try these faux versions that reviewers seem to love and would look great in the vases above!

I’m always on the hunt for a good book topper. I just purchased this for my family room. And I do have an obsession with hands so I am intrigued by this item and this one!

You know I love a good antique bread board and Chase Vintage has these gorgeous ones right now. You can use them in place of a tray on a coffee table to corral all of your items. But then again, if you prefer a tray, I just purchased this set of two.

These adorable Euroepan-style baskets are currently more than 50% off and available in three different sizes. I think they’d be beautiful styled next to a sofa holding throws or pillows. And this basket would be perfect for an entryway or laundry room!

I don’t talk about beauty or fashion very much, but if you’re tired of your under eye concealer settling in the fine lines, try this brand. It truly stays in place!

Looking for decorate for July 4th? There’s still time for Amazon decor to arrive! These would be adorable on a railing and this would be perfect for the table. These melamine plates are similar to the ones I own and they’re perfect year-round.

And wait until you see how this cozy office turned out! I literally love everything about this room. And that wallpaper!

This bathroom is so relaxing and elegant!

Random Tidbits

If you’re gearing up for Amazon Prime Day on July 16 and 17, they just announced a look at some early deals! You can find them in this post.

And Money.com is sharing home renovations that home insurance companies love in order to help reduce insurance costs for homeowners.

Also, just a reminder that sometimes knock-offs are great, and sometimes, they aren’t. I accidentally purchased some generic picture hanging strips, not the Command brand. In the middle of the night, MY NEW DIY INTAGLIOS FELL OFF THE WALL! Somehow, none of the intaglios broke but the glass on one of the frames did. Let that be a lesson, Command brand only from now on!

And if you missed this week’s new post, I shared a gorgeous home tour from my new friend Jennifer.

Until next time!
