Welcome to Home & Garden Tidbits. This is a collection of everything that caught my eye this past week from renovations to gardens, home decor finds. and more!

Let’s get inspired together!

This last week was crazy! We *finally* got our kitchen electrical fixed after the contractor messed it up so badly that we failed inspection 3 times! But 4th time was the charm and the kitchen finally passed inspection!

We also had a stone restoration company come out to remove the giant scratch made by the contractor. It’s still not back to its original state, but it never will be. But at least it looks a lot better now and I’ll be able to live with it (Well, in time. I’m still mad right now).

We hosted some friends for dinner and it turned out well (at least I think it did). I’m sharing the chicken recipe that I used below. I got it from my mom’s best friend at my bridal shower and it’s one of my favs because it tastes amazing, but also because it can be served cold, allowing me to prepare it in advance!

And because it’s Summer, we decided to take a spur-of-the-moment trip to Universal Studios as a family. My son really wanted to take my daughter so we ended up all going.

So that was my week. Now let’s move on to what captured my attention this week!

Home Decor Finds

Since I have to rehang my DIY Intaglios, I thought I might mix in some smaller framed artwork. I’m planning to use these frames (which have 5 stars with 1500 reviews!) and this digital download art!

While I’ve done some planting in the backyard already this year, I still want a new planter for my front porch. I have come across this large planter several times and like it every time I see it. I also love these and have seen them everywhere this year!

I have a friend that gets together every Sunday with two other families for Sunday dinner. I saw this book on Amazon and thought it would make a great hostess gift! Diptyque would also make a great gift. And this is a great idea if you’re having a get together! I actually just ordered it.

Lately I’ve been a bit green obsessed. Olive green to be exact (As a kid of the 70s, I can just see my mom rolling her eyes at me right now!) I ordered a sample of this rug, and really like these pillows! I think these stems would look good in the room, too.

Again, I don’t really focus on beauty finds very much, so if I do, it’s because I really love it. And I really, really love this eye cream! I swear I noticed a difference within 1 day. It says it can be used morning and night, but personally, I don’t recommend wearing it during the day. I found that it messed with my makeup a bit so I like to use it only at bedtime.

My yard has so much clay in it that container gardening is often my go-to solution when I want to spruce things up. Here are some fun container gardening tips from Ann.
