Treasured Tidbits
A Sophisticated Powder Bath
Sometimes an entire room design starts with just one thing. In this case, it was wallpaper!
I came across the most gorgeous chocolate-brown floral wallpaper and immediately wanted to design something around it. The dark background, muted flowers, and vintage-inspired pattern were just begging for a sophisticated, moody bathroom.
I’ve always thought powder bathrooms were the perfect place to take a decorating risk. They’re small enough that you can go bold without committing to an entire living room or bedroom, and a little drama can make them feel extra special.
So for this week’s Treasured Tidbits, I had some fun imagining a powder bath with that wallpaper as the starting point. I added dark wood, antique brass, vintage artwork, and a few finishing touches to create a room that feels elegant but still has plenty of personality.
Here’s how I imagined it all coming together!

This Week’s Treasured Finds: A Sophisticated Powder Bath

The wallpaper is really the star of this room. I love the deep chocolate background and the muted flowers in shades of cream, taupe, and soft green. It’s a bold pattern, but the colors are surprisingly easy to work with.
To balance the wallpaper, I chose a dark wood vanity with turned legs and a white marble top. The arched brass mirror and matching sconces add a little elegance, while the two stacked vintage-style landscapes bring in that collected look I love so much.
For the finishing touches, I went with a brass vase filled with burgundy flowering branches, a monogrammed scalloped hand towel, and tortoiseshell bathroom accessories displayed on a dark wooden tray. Even the wastebasket got some attention, because in a room this small, everything is part of the design!
I also included a little wooden bobbin-leg stool and a faded traditional rug. Both help soften the room and make it feel less like a newly decorated bathroom and more like a space that’s evolved over time.
What I especially love about this combination is the mix of finishes and textures. The marble and brass are elegant, but the dark wood, woven basket, and vintage artwork keep the room from feeling too formal.
And while I went all in with the wallpaper for this design, you could absolutely borrow individual ideas for an existing powder bath. Sometimes a beautiful mirror, a pair of sconces, or a few vintage accessories are all you need to give a small bathroom more personality.

Benjamin Moore’s 2027 Color of the Year Is Webster Green
Benjamin Moore’s 2027 Color of the Year Is Webster Green
Benjamin Moore has announced its 2027 Color of the Year, and it’s a classic! Webster Green HC-130 is a rich, traditional green that’s actually part of the brand’s existing Historic Color Collection.
I love that they chose a color with some history rather than introducing something completely new. It’s the kind of green that looks beautiful alongside antique furniture, warm wood tones, aged brass, and traditional artwork. In other words, right up my alley!
And unlike some Colors of the Year that seem a little difficult to use in a real home, I can easily picture this one on kitchen cabinets, built-ins, or even a front door.

The Ralph Lauren Christmas Look Is Trending Again
Apparently, the Christmas look many of us have loved for years is officially trending again!
The Ralph Lauren Christmas aesthetic was all over social media last year, and it’s back for 2026. Think tartan plaid, deep burgundy and forest green, velvet ribbons, antique brass, vintage ornaments, and a few equestrian touches.
What makes me laugh is that so much of this is simply classic Christmas decorating with a new name! But I’m certainly not complaining. I love the rich colors, traditional patterns, and the idea of mixing treasured decorations with new finds.
The best part? You don’t need to buy anything from Ralph Lauren to get the look. Chances are, you already have a few pieces tucked away in your Christmas bins!

Nostalgic Christmas Decor Is Everywhere This Year
Have you noticed how much Christmas decor looks like it came straight out of our childhoods this year?
I first noticed all the nostalgic decorations while browsing Walmart. Then, when I stopped by Target last Sunday, employees were busy changing over the displays for Christmas, and there was even more retro-inspired decor!
Think old-fashioned ornaments, playful holiday figurines, and decorations that look like something your parents or grandparents might have pulled out of the attic.
I love a beautifully decorated Christmas tree, but I also think there’s something special about decorations that bring back memories. Not everything has to match perfectly, and sometimes those nostalgic pieces are the ones we end up loving the most.
A Little Life Lately
This past weekend was a bittersweet one. I watched my son’s very last college marching band performance. After eight years of being a band parent, it’s hard to believe this chapter is coming to an end! He’s loved every minute of it, and I’ve loved watching him do something that brings him so much joy. I’m proud of him, of course, but I’m also a little sad that there won’t be another performance to look forward to.
Maybe that’s why I’m feeling especially sentimental about my newest Christmas decorating project. I put a little memory tree on my kitchen counter using gold picture-frame ornaments from Magnolia, filled with photos of my kids when they were little. And I think it might be my new favorite Christmas decoration! Every time I walk over to the sink, I catch a glimpse of those sweet little faces and find myself remembering Christmases when the kids were younger. I had no idea a little tabletop tree would make me so happy.

On a completely different note, I’ve also been having the best time helping a friend redesign some rooms in her home. We’ve been playing around with different layouts, furniture, and accessories, and it’s been so much fun seeing everything come together. Plus, there’s something especially enjoyable about decorating when you’re spending someone else’s money instead of your own! Ha!
