Welcome to Home & Garden Tidbits. This is a collection of everything that caught my eye this past week from renovations to gardens, home decor finds, and more!
Let’s get inspired together!
The day finally came! My new fireplace surround from California Mantel & Firepalce was installed! I can’t begin to tell you how nervous I was about my color choice since I only had a tiny square to choose from…
Thankfully, I LOVE the color and the style so I’m thrilled. There was a mixup with the height and the installers could have made some adjustments, but I decided on the fly to just keep it the taller height that they had made. I’m still a bit nervous about the size because it’s different than what I was used to, but I think it’s going to be just perfect.
I also undecorated my Christmas tree…yes, undecorated. I’m prepping the space for our family Christmas tree instead, which is a live tree full of ridiculous but sentimental ornaments.
So that was my week. Now let’s move on to what captured my attention this week!
Home Decor Finds
I was recently reminded of my love of French antiques, so that’s what caught my eye this week.
Like this wall sconce that I’ve admired for a few years now! I saw it in a designer’s home and have been obsessed ever since.
I’ve also been obsessed with these chairs for a few years. They look antique but are actually new. They’d be such a conversation piece at the table, though! This basket looks antique too, but it’s also new. And these bowls are practical and a great size, but can also be used for display.
And okay, so a Mora clock is an investment, but this one is gorgeous! And if an antique isn’t in your budet, there are some great reproductions like this one or this one.
Creepy portraits often catch my eye, but this one isn’t creepy, it’s cute! And this fresh wreath is beautiful because it’s soft-looking but classic.
And a throw is also a classic and this one is only $19 but has 4.5/5.0 stars on Amazon! And this printed pillow is on sale right now for under $25.

Instagram Inspiration
I think you’ll love these posts that stopped me in my scroll this week!
1. @lepuration – I don’t know where to start! The beautiful chevron wood floors, the view, the amazing wallpaper, the grand scale of it all…
2. @manoir_group – I’m a sucker for anything Gustavian and this room has it all!
3. @sallymay_interiors – That hood is a showstopper to say the least! Scroll to see the before. I love how they made the space so much lighter and brighter but maintained the historic feel.
4. @vivietmargot – I find the simplicity of this kitchen to be so interesting. And I love that she used fabric panels as temporary cabinets while she decided how to design this space!
5. @frenchcountrycottage – Courtney’s dining room is always one of my favorites, no matter how she has it styled!
Random Tidbits
I couldn’t convince my friends that a pomander-making party would be fun! I thought some adult beverages, a Hallmark Christmas movie, and pomanders would be a fun holiday craft, but they disagreed. Womp womp.
Until next time!
