Take a tour of my Christmas dining room for 2024! Warm browns, rich green, and a touch of gold create a cozy and elegant palette for a holiday dinner.
Last week, I shared my Christmas living room. My living and dining rooms are essentially one big room, so I typically maintain the color scheme from one room to the other.
So, since this year’s tree was decorated in warm browns and deep shades of green, that’s the palette I used in the dining room, too!
If you look back at last year’s Christmas table, they look quite different. But, here’s what’s interesting: I used the same centerpiece, flowers, feather frees, votives, ornaments, greenery, chargers, dinner plates, salad plates, flatware, and wine glasses!!!
It’s really just a few small tweaks that I made to create a whole new look!
The Place Settings
If you’ve followed me for a while, you might realize that things look a bit familiar. I used the exact same warm bronze chargers and plates as last year. Simply changing the napkin and topper completely changed the look!
A few months ago when I purchased my Fall/Christmas damask pillow cover, I saw that they had the same print as napkins. I love this print so I scooped up a set of the green damask napkins.
You would not believe the great debate then went into how I should top these salad plates. I was originally going to use these small gift boxes for each plate…
…but I didn’t like how they looked when it was time to photograph. Instead, I chose a pear and a real magnolia leaf as a place card just to try something different and festive and put the favor boxes to the side!
Fun Fact: This table is set for my four-legged friends! The names are those of our dogs and their little doggy friends. Lol!
I used my gold-rimmed wine glasses and paired them with some new Amazon water goblets that I found to maintain the color scheme.
the Centerpiece
Last year, I used a single gold compote to hold white hydrangeas. This year, I used a series of three to create a larger visual impact.
Hydrangeas are expensive and with three compotes to fill, I had to get a bit creative. So, I filled each with a mixture of real and faux blossoms! Can you tell which are which?
Along the table, I added more magnolia leaves to bring in the rich green, along with white feather trees, mercury glass votives and a few small ornaments.
To fill in the larger gaps, I used the same brown velvet flowers that I used on my Christmas tree this year!
Other Christmas Decor
You know the saying, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”? Well, that applies to decorating, too!
I love my holiday greens on my chandelier and the swag on my Mora clock, so I used that same look again this year!
Over in the corner, I leaned a few of my antique bread paddles on the wall with a simple wreath. And my new favorite tree from Walmart made an appearance in my antique French market basket!
So that wraps up my Christmas dining room tour this year.
