My honest King of Christmas tree review, including setup, realism, styling, function, and more!
The time has come! Christmastime! Maybe not according to the calendar, but according to blogging-land it has.
We typically have two Christmas trees in our home. One artificial tree that I decorate myself that is pretty and perfect and just how I want. The other is a live tree that we buy in December. We decorate this tree as a family and it’s full of my kids’ handmade ornaments and my sentimental ones.

My artificial tree goes up around the same time each year, usually in October. It’s now a tradition for my daughter and her friends to take Halloween pictures in front of the tree.
I’ve had the same artificial tree for years now but decided to try something new this year! I’ll admit I was a bit nervous to try out a new tree and even more nervous once I opened the box. Fast forward, the good news is that I ended up loving this tree!
So today I’m giving you my honest review of my new King of Christmas tree. Plus, get a sneak peek of my decorated tree this year with a full tour and details to come soon!

The King of Christmas Pre-Lit Alpine Fir
I looked through all of the King of Christmas trees and the one that I loved the most was their Alpine Fir. I was looking for a realistic tree with some fullness, but not too full since I do love my big ornaments. And while I do love a flocked tree, I didn’t want flocking this time.
Here are my tree details according to the website:
- 7.5 Feet Tall 59″ Wide
- Pre-strung with 800 UL Warm White Micro LED lights
- Blend of Realistic and Classic needle tips
- Hinged sections for easy setup
- Tree height includes the tree stand
- Includes remote and foot pedal
- Includes metal tree stand, off-season storage bag, and protective gloves to shape your tree in style
- Enjoy a quick and seamless connection with our power pole, eliminating the need to connect any wires.
Easy and stress-free Setup
The setup of the tree was super easy. The tree came in three sections and I was able to lift all of the sections by myself, which is important to take into consideration. Because all of the power runs through the center pole, I didn’t have to bother connecting plugs together from the various sections. All I had to do was pop the sections together and it was done. Love that!
Each section is clearly labeled – A, B, C – so there’s no question about what goes where. I simply set up the included base and popped Section A into the stand, then B, and then C.

Fluffing & Styling
No artificial tree will look good right out of the box. They’ve been shipped and stored and well, they get flat. So every artificial tree will need to be fluffed after storage to get everything back into shape.
Here’s where I got nervous with my King of Christmas tree. Right out of the box it looked…sparse. Maybe even barren? I’ll be honest, I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to fluff it to the full look I was expecting. I thought I’d ordered the Charlie Brown of Christmas trees…whomp whomp!
Luckily, I was wrong.

Fluffing this tree was much easier than others I’ve done in the past. And not only that, but once fluffed, it looked full and gorgeous! I did find that it’s easiest to fluff in sections as you assemble the tree. So, for example, fluff section A before adding section B to the tree.
The main branches are hinged and most fall into place with gravity. If they don’t, you can simply pull them down. From there, you’ll need to spread out each of the wired sections and then each of the individual stems. But honestly, it was super easy and fast.
King of Christmas provides gloves just for fluffing so that you don’t get poked or scratched in the process. Did I use them? No. Should I have used them? Yes, I think it would have been kinder on my hands if I had. Lol!

The Remote & Lights
I paid attention to how many lights were on the tree but not to the light functions because well, I wasn’t really expecting any. Boy was I surprised when I came across the remote and learned that there are 8 different options for the lights! You can choose from basic ON, to flashing, to slo-glo, waves, etc. Not only can you choose different settings for the lights, but you can also brighten and dim them, or put them on an 8-hour timer using the remote.
I have three favorite functions so far: Steady On, Slo-Glo and Slow Fade.

Realistic and Sturdy Needles
My tree is made up of a mix of PVC and PE needles. PVC needles are flat and look paper-like. These are what I call the “filler” needles. They take up a lot of space and help a tree to look and feel really full, while simultaneously keeping costs down.
PE needles are those that are three-dimensional and look realistic. My King of Christmas tree has a mix of both, but the needles showing on the outside of the tree are primarily PE, giving it an overall realistic look.
Additionally, I found that the needles were sturdy enough to hold some of my heavier ornaments even on the tips. I hung my really heavy ornaments deeper in the tree from thicker branches to ensure they wouldn’t fall.

Conclusion
I’m really happy with my new King of Christmas tree. I wanted a tree that was fuller but still looked natural and I think this tree does the job perfectly! I love how easy it was to set up and fluff. But I’ll admit, I might be most excited about the different light options and the timer and yes, I do use them!
My Christmas Tree 2024
This year’s inspiration came from a holiday pick that I stumbled across. My tree is a mix of browns, copper, gold, and dark green. There might actually be more picks on this tree than there are ornaments!

Right now, I have it set so that the tree is on every morning when we come downstairs and it’s such a nice way to welcome the day!

I’ll be sharing more details about the decorations and a full tour of this room soon.

The tree is beautiful. Seeing it the first thing every man would put everyone in a happy mood. I’m a little anxious to start decorating too. I probably won’t start until November though.
