Treasured Tidbits
An Old World Thanksgiving Table
I was shopping for sweaters with a friend at Anthropologie when I spotted the most gorgeous plates. We weren’t even looking at dishes, but the moment I saw the Judarn collection, I fell in love!
Between the woodland scenes, beautiful colors, and irregular edges, they were right up my alley. I could picture using them year-round, but I also thought they’d be beautiful for the holidays.

I’m proud to say I resisted the temptation to buy them on the spot. Although they may or may not have secretly found their way onto my Christmas list. 😂
In the meantime, I thought it would be fun to see how I might use them for a Thanksgiving table. They’re certainly not traditional Thanksgiving dishes, but that’s exactly what makes them interesting!
So, for this week’s Treasured Tidbits, I’ve put together an Old World Thanksgiving table inspired by those gorgeous plates, with rich autumn colors, antique-inspired details, and a mix of pieces that look as though they’ve been collected over time.
Here’s how I envision these pieces all coming together…

This Week’s Treasured Finds: Old-World Thanksgiving Table Decor

Of course, the Judarn plates are the stars of this collection! I paired them with dark, textured chargers to bring out the earthy colors in the pattern. Vintage-style silver flatware adds a little shine, while forest green linen napkins and aged brass napkin rings pick up the greens in the dishes.
For the centerpiece, I’m picturing magnolia greenery running down the length of the table, with low arrangements of deep burgundy flowers and berries tucked throughout. Add mismatched brass candlesticks, a decorative pheasant or two, and scattered figs and pears for a little Old World charm.

I also included a rustic wooden breadboard for serving, along with warm brown glassware and a beautiful footed candle bowl.
I love the combination of weathered wood, patterned china, soft linens, and mixed metals. There’s plenty of color and texture, but everything still works together.
And while this collection was inspired by Thanksgiving, most of these pieces can be used year-round. You could easily use the dishes, glassware, candlesticks, and serving accessories for other holidays or everyday entertaining.

Now I just have to hope Santa got the hint about those plates!

Michaels’ Four New Christmas Collections
I’ve always thought Michaels was a bit of a hidden gem for home decor. It’s probably not the first store that comes to mind when you’re shopping for your home, but they often have some surprisingly good finds!
Well, Michaels just introduced four new Christmas decor collections for 2026: Bough & Berry, Merry Kitschmas, Wrapped in Joy, and Twilight Tidings.
There’s something for just about every decorating style, from traditional red and green to playful pinks and glamorous metallics.

Meghan Markle’s As Ever Expands into Home Decor
People seem to either love Meghan Markle or have very strong feelings the other way! 😂 If you’re in the first camp, you might be excited to hear that her lifestyle brand, As Ever, has expanded into home goods.
The new collection includes blue-and-white Trellis porcelain, embroidered table linens, and woven rattan accessories, along with candles and home fragrances.
Chintz Is Making a Comeback
Remember when floral fabrics were everywhere? Well, chintz is making a comeback, and I’m actually happy to see it!
After years of plain neutrals and minimalist interiors, it’s fun to see traditional floral patterns getting some attention again.
I’m not suggesting we return to the days of matching floral wallpaper, curtains, and sofas, but a beautiful chintz pillow, upholstered chair, or even a pair of curtains can add so much personality to a room.
I’m curious. Are you happy to see chintz return, or were you glad to see it go?
Sugared Fruit Is Back for Christmas
Here’s another blast from the past! I’ve been seeing sugared fruit popping up all over social media for Christmas decorating.
Remember those frosted, sparkly pears, apples, and grapes? They’re showing up again in holiday collections, including at Target and Pottery Barn.
I love the nostalgic look, especially when the fruit is displayed in an antique bowl or mixed into Christmas greenery. And apparently, it’s pretty easy to make your own!
Here’s a fun tutorial I came across if you’d rather try the DIY route.
Life Lately
Well, apparently my Christmas decorating has taken an unexpected Halloween turn! I sold a piece of art on Facebook Marketplace, and when the buyer came to pick it up, she asked if my Christmas tree was decorated for Halloween because the lights looked orange. Umm, not exactly the look I was going for! 😂
Meanwhile, Mimi and Phoebe were getting into the Halloween spirit on their daily walks this past week. Mimi was a bumblebee, and Phoebe was a little devil. Yes, I’ve been walking them around the neighborhood in full costume!

I’m also getting my first shingles vaccine soon, and I’ve already decided I’ll need at least a day in bed to “recover.” My current British mystery obsession is The Red King, so I’ve got my entertainment covered. And if I happen to feel perfectly fine, well, there’s no sense in rushing things. 😂
As for today, I’m headed to the antique fair! Of course, it falls on the morning daylight saving time ends, so much for enjoying that extra hour of sleep!
