It’s birthday week at my house! Yes, my teenage daughter has declared it’s birthday “week”. We kicked things off with a tour of an authentic haunted house, followed by a trip to the mall! I’ve planned her favorite meal, organized a party, and bought her favorite snacks. I haven’t wrapped a single present but there’s still time!
And what I love the most is that my son is coming home from college to surprise her for her birthday! Big brother is really coming through for the win on this one.
The solar installation is finally done and we are eagerly awaiting a drop in our energy bill…of course it’s raining now so I’m not sure we’ll be seeing that drop anytime soon.

So that was my week. Now let’s move on to what captured my attention this week!
Home Decor Finds
Today is all about Amazon! Specifically, the cute Christmas decor you can find on Amazon now.
Let’s talk about wired Christmas ribbon. Ribbon has to be wired to put in a Christmas tree if you want to create nice big loops, but it’s expensive! Amazon has some cute options though, like this champagne-colored diamond mesh. I also really like this beige and gold ribbon with glitter. And I purchased this ribbon this year because the edging and underside were so pretty!
When it comes to decorating the tree, paper honeycomb ornaments are trending this year and you might have seen them in stores already. But you can purchase ones like these on Amazon. You can also get small pre-made velvet bows that you can just pop right on the tree for some whimsy! And I like this beaded garland as well.
There are a few things you might have seen in my own home and they come from Amazon. Like this adorable Santa and this beautiful compote that I use for flowers! My all-time favorite feather trees are also from Amazon, as are my vintage clip-on candles.
